Los Angeles Unified School District is the second largest school district in the U.S. As part of their Year 2000 compliance efforts, LAUSD, along with Arthur Andersen, developed a plan to upgrade 150 schools to an NT server environment.

First they had to prove the viability of NT with the older Student Information System Applications and the SNA gateway functionality on one NT server box. Networld Solutions was called upon by Arthur Andersen to help prove this compatibility and develop a plan to systematically install 2000 desktops and 150 Netware servers. They completed this massive rollout on time and 20% under budget.

Networld Solutions was also asked to configure an OS/2-based file transfer application. They brought together a development team to re-design and write a Visual Basic application to replace the older software. This project was also completed on time and on budget.

Through the collective efforts of LAUSD's ITD staff, Arthur Andersen's technology team, Microsoft's NT and Office applications, and Networld Solutions Consulting and project management capabilities, LAUSD's schools are 32-bit, NT-based and Year 2000 compliant.
