Pacific Coast Realty Services, Inc., or PCRS, a hotel management business, owns and operates a number of small to medium size hotels around the country. PCRS wanted to develop an online registration capability to generate traffic, efficiency and a level of convenience to users who are visiting any number of web sites of hotels they manage. This system is called the Online Hotel Reservation System (OHRS). Visitors can enter the OHRS from any hotel web site and view availability, discounts, and rates for that hotel. They can select and reserve for a room based on their preferences and then pay for the room online.

After the reservation is confirmed, the user receives a confirmation number and the OHRS automatically notifies the hotel frontdesk of a new reservation. We built the system to include a hotel staff interface that allows complete management of all hotel room reservation activities directly from the staff's browser.

The OHRS has 3 levels of security to control who has access to the specific hotel and customer information. Hotel administrators and supervisors use the PC browser to edit the data online, including posting of changes such as discount offers, room availability, price changes, etc.
